Student of the Month - Chandler Cox - South Whitley Elementary

Chandler Cox is a great student and friend and all around good kid. He is always ready to do the right thing and treat people right. Chandler is always ready to try anything new with a smile on his face. When a classmate or teacher needs a lending hand, Chandler is always up for the job. The world would be a better place if everyone approached life as Chandler does every day. Chandler was nominated by teacher, Angie Tranter.

Author Troy Cummings Visits SWE

Indiana Children's Author Troy Cummings visited South Whitley Elementary School today. He had the opportunity to present to each grade his creative process, the way he brainstorms, and ultimately illustrates and writes a book. Troy is the author of the book series "Notebook of Doom" and the students love it!

Troy took time to eat a special lunch with 4th and 5th grade students who had won an essay competition, and he also signed autographs for each child who purchased his book. But if your child couldn't purchase a book today (due to high demand the books sold out!) Troy has autographed stickers for students to place into their books after they have arrived from a second special order. This way even they will have an autographed copy.
